We are delighted to announce that Marty Rolle was elected Chair of the IWF UK Board in July. She succeeded Shirley Cooper OBE who stepped down after 2 years in the role.
Marty has extensive experience in financial, commercial and operational leadership. She said “I am honoured to be elected as the new Chair. I am inspired by Shirley Cooper’s leadership and by the fabulous members of IWF UK. This organisation has been built on the shoulders of Shirley and all the dedicated Chairs before her. I look forward to working with the new Board and with the members to advance women’s leadership and champion equality worldwide.”
Marty is joined by two new Board members, Margarete McGrath and Nicolina Andall as well as Suzanne Todd and Susan Young who were re-elected for another term.
Shirley thanked Jeanette Cowley, Sue Vinnicombe CBE and Kathryn Pretzel-Shiels, who also stepped down from the Board and noted that Sue and Kathryn each served a remarkable six years.
Shirley congratulated the new team and wished them well. In her farewell message to members at the AGM, she reflected on the progress made on many fronts: diversity of membership, programme and engagement, communications and the growth of support and sense of community amongst members during the tough times of the pandemic. In addition, connections with IWF Global and other forums strengthened during what has been an extraordinary period.
Shirley thanked all who worked alongside her during her term and said “I am enormously proud of our forum and what we have accomplished together, especially the progress we have made connecting, collaborating and supporting one another.”
