ELN A Conversation with ... Alison Maitland

Almost 50 people attended this week’s ELN 'In Conversation with Alison Maitland' event hosted by ELN Board member, Samreen Seher, at Inmarsat’s offices.

Alison Maitland, IWF UK Board Member, business author and journalist, shared some of her career turning points and influences, including her early years as a diplomat’s daughter growing up in Cairo, and being among the first female students at the previously all-male King's College, Cambridge. She was involved in women’s campaigns as a student and shared stories of torch-lit marches! Her career took her to Paris with Reuters and then to the FT in London, where she had exciting editing and writing roles and pioneered job-sharing as a reporter.

She also talked about her recent portfolio career and writing books, her passion for women’s leadership shone through during the conversation and the audience discussion.
