Professor Dame Carol Black DBE FRCP FMedSci gave this year’s IWF UK Jean Denton Lecture on ‘Women and the Workplace: Have we made progress?’
Over 60 attended the lecture and reception kindly hosted by Bupa in Central London, which was introduced by Evelyn Bourke, CEO, Bupal and moderated by Julie Goldstein, Chair, IWF UK. The lecture reflected on the position of women in the workplace today, the areas of progress, stagnation and challenge, and asked can we accelerate the necessary change. Dame Carol is Principal, Newnham College Cambridge and Expert Adviser on Health and Work to NHS England and Public Health England. This annual lecture is given in memory of the organisation’s co-founder, Baroness Jean Denton of Wakefield (1935-2001), businesswoman, rally driver, politician the first female minister in the Northern Ireland Office.
