Anne Minto OBE

Anne has had a highly successful portfolio career as a Non-Executive Director serving on the boards of Shire plc, Tate and Lyle plc, Northumbrian Water plc and EXL Inc and chaired the remuneration committees at Shire, Tate & Lyle and EXL. She is a former Chair of both the Institute of Employment Studies and the Engineering Development Trust and served for over ten years on the National Employers Committee for the Reserve Forces. Anne is an independent governor on the Court of University of Aberdeen and chairs the University’s Finance and Resources Committee. She also served as Chair of the University Development Trust for 9 years until September 2021. She annually funds four scholarships for law schools students at the University. She is a member of the Leadership Council for WiP (Women in Prison).

She is passionate about diversity in the workplace and has championed women’s succession to leadership positions and mentors a number of senior women in preparation for board roles. She has also championed women’s equal pay and maternity leave in the workplace.

She is an ambassador and sponsor of the Om Foundation School in Nodia ,India.

She was awarded an OBE in 2000 for services to the engineering industry.

Although she has lived in London for 35 years, she was born in Scotland and still retains many links both professionally and personally north of the border where she also enjoys watching Scotland play rugby at Murrayfield. She loves theatre, opera, travelling, entertaining family and friends.
