Kathryn Pretzel-Shiels is an international business & marketing leader with over 30 years experience creating and growing commercially powerful B2B and B2C customer relationships.
Marketing Director UK & USA for PAUL Ltd, a 127 year old global French Artisanal Bakery & Cafe, Kathryn leads marketing strategies and activities across multiple disciplines including; campaign development, branding, new product development, partnerships, and purchasing, to drive business growth. During a 28 career at American Express, Kathryn held several leadership roles, spanning the US, Asia and EMEA, most notably leading the growth of business relationships within the UK/EMEA hospitality & travel industries and developing marketing strategies to delivery value to merchants and customers alike.
Kathryn has a track record for leading and developing multi-cultural teams through growth, change and transformation. She has earned a reputation for achievements through her creative & passionate approach to marketing, customer engagement, service excellence and people development. She is committed to the development of future women leaders and has been involved in creation of Women’s Interest Networks at American Express, as well as mentoring & coaching.
Outside of work, she joined the Board of Trustees for Bowel & Cancer Research charity, January 2017 and the International Women’s Forum in March 2016. She heads up the Arizona State University Alumni Association for the UK. On a personal note Kathryn is a dual US/UK citizen and enjoys tennis, golf, pilates, and long walks. She appreciates theatre, dance, opera and everything culinary from creating menus when entertaining, to diverse cuisines when dining around the world in London and abroad.
